CARMEL, Ind. -- Wild turkey police chase? Well, that is just another Tuesday in Carmel after police detained a turkey that got loose following a brief pursuit with the feathered bird. According to a Carmel Police Department Facebook post, Community Service Officers engaged in a "brief (and friendly) foot pursuit" with a wild turkey. The turkey can be viewed in the photo below after being apprehended and placed in the back of a CPD K9 vehicle. CPD said the Indiana Department of Natural Resources also assisted and transported the "feathery friend" to a farm in the area where it would be safe. The post didn't mention where the turkey escaped from.
