PPLD to revote on renewing Rockrimmon library lease
Dec 03, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) Board of Trustees will reportedly re-vote whether to renew the Rockrimmon library's lease for another year, after many community members made their voices heard following the closure of the location on Dec. 1.
According to the "Save the Rockrimmon Library" group, the PPLD Board's agenda for a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4 reflects another vote on whether to renew the library's lease until Dec. 31, 2025. The Board had previously insisted that the library would remain closed, and that the decision was in the best financial interest of the library district.

The Save the Rockrimmon Library organization said it is "cautiously hopeful" about the results of Wednesday's board meeting. The group encourages the community to show up at the meeting, and is expecting large crowds similar to those at previous meetings.
The meeting on Wednesday is the last meeting of the board before the Rockrimmon lease officially expires. The meeting will be held at Library 21C, 1175 Chapel Hills Dr., from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
