Pro pickleball tournament coming to Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Professional Pickleball is coming to Rochester with the inaugural season of the PPA Tour Challenger Series!
In an effort to foster growth and development within the pickleball community, the PPA Challenger Series said it aims to grab and nurture emerging talent, grow participation and elevate the sport to a new level.
This is one of 15 tour stops in 2025 spanning across the country, creating an avenue for high-level amateur and aspiring professional pickleball players to get into professional pickleball and earn a ticket into the Carvana PPA Tour.
Along with a range of opportunities for pickleball players, the tournament is also expected to bring around $800,000 of revenue to the Rochester area through lodging, retail and food and beverage.
For all those competitors out there, the tournament also holds a $10,000 prize pool!
This year's tournament will be held at Dinkers Pickleball in Rochester. The schedule runs June 27 through June 29 as follows:
Friday, June 27 – Men's and Women's Singles
Saturday, June 28 – Gender Doubles
Sunday, June 28 – Mixed Doubles
All pro and amateur participants will receive grounds pass with their fee to participate in the event. All friends, family and fans who wish to get a grounds pass can purchase one for $15.
