SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) - The Shawnee County Treasurer's Office is starting to collect local resident's property taxes for 2024.
The Shawnee County Treasurer's Office announced in a statement on Dec. 3 that 2024 property tax statements have started to be mailed out on Friday, Nov. 29. This year, the Shawnee County Treasurer expects the total amount certified to be more than $346 million, according to a news release from the Shawnee County Treasurer's Office. The 2024 expected tax total is nearly $12 million more than the Treasurer's office collected in 2023.
The office will be using a lockbox service, so only one payment coupon will be available for the first mailing of the tax statements. The first half of 2024 property tax payments are due Friday, Dec. 20, 2024.
