HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- If the holder of one winning Virginia Lottery ticket bought in Hanover County doesn't cash it in by Monday, they will miss out on over $1.6 million. The Virginia Lottery is trying to find the winner of a June 11 Cash 5 with EZ Match drawing. According to a Dec. 3 press release from the agency, this ticket matched all five winning numbers and therefore won the jackpot. However, if the ticket is not redeemed by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, it will expire -- meaning its holder will lose out on their $1,615,053 prize. The ticket was purchased at the Wawa at 7847 Compass Point Lane in the Mechanicsville area, with its numbers reading 1-12-19-22-31. Alison Krauss and Union Station to perform at Richmond’s Allianz Amphitheater Riverfront Per Virginia law, tickets expire 180 days after their respective drawings. According to the release, this would be Sunday, Dec. 8, when Virginia Lottery offices are closed -- so the deadline has been extended by one business day. If you have this winning ticket, you should contact the Virginia Lottery immediately. You can visit any of these eight customer service centers across the state to redeem it. Two of them can be found in the Richmond area: the Lottery Headquarters at 600 E. Main Street and the Prize Zone West at 1650 E. Parham Road. Should this prize remain unclaimed, by law, it will be donated to Virginia's Literary Fund. Said find provides low-interest loans to localities for public school construction, renovations and technology upgrades, according to the release.
