GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Local 5 previews nearly 70 new beautifully decorated Christmas trees, set against the backdrop of the historic trains at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay.
The Festival of Trees is an annual display exhibited by the National Railroad Museum that brings more than 20,000 visitors each year.
In the early 2000s, the festival began as a collaboration between the YWCA and the museum, with the museum providing the venue for the event. In 2007, the museum officially took over the event.

The decorated trees have been submitted by local businesses, non-profits, and organizations. The National Railroad Museum's spokesperson, Justis Tenpenny, did not share any comment or information regarding the submission process with Local 5.
Last year, the festival drew criticism because the Satanic Temple was allowed to submit a tree.
A new highlight this year is the Brown County Coalition for Suicide Prevention's tree, which features presents placed underneath for individuals facing mental health struggles during the holiday season.
The 2024 festival runs from November 21 through January 5, 2025, and the event is included in the daily admission price.
