EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- El Paso County is breaking ground on a new park in far East El Paso.
The park, to be called Desert Acceptance (Square Dance) Linear Park, will be built at Square Dance Road and Boots Green Road.
A ground-breaking ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.
The park will include a 10-foot-wide shared-used path that is 1 mile long, ADA ramps, striping, crosswalks and other amentities, the County said.
"Alongside these exciting recreational upgrades, the project includes vital infrastructure improvements such as updated drainage, curbs, and pedestrian facilities, creating a safer and more enjoyable community environment. The contractor involved with this exciting new venture is E.G.L Construction, and the design consultant is CEA Group," the County said in its news release.
The project is expected to be completed in spring 2025.
