Colorado Springs begins plan process for historic park
Dec 03, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department (PRCS) will hold its first neighborhood meeting about the Stratton Neighborhood Park.
The park, dedicated on June 12, 1902, is located in the Broadmoor neighborhood and was originally named "Cheyenne Park," then more popularly known as "Stratton's Park." In the 1960s, the park was purchased by PEO International and a PEO Chapter House was built, with a commitment to maintain the park's natural beauty while using the site as a home for PEO Chapter members. The park was then purchased by PRCS in 2021.
