(KRON) – Colma police officers chased a suspected thief through a cemetery to arrest him, according to the Colma Police Department. The theft occurred at a Colma Boulevard retail store on Nov. 27. Colma PD responded the scene at 1:41 p.m. and learned a suspect, later identified as Joshua Warwick, concealed merchandise in a bag and fled the store on foot. Colma PD said officers noticed Warwick walking through a cemetery with a backpack. Police said Warwick began to run after officers ordered him to stop twice and then a foot pursuit ensued.  Photo: Colma PD Robbers hold AT&T store employees at gunpoint in American Canyon Warwick was detained after he surrendered. The store’s employees identified Warwick as the thief. Police discovered he stole approximately $293.89 worth of merchandise. Warwick, a 45-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested for shoplifting and resisting a police officer. Colma PD said Warwick was issued a citation for the charges and released on his promise to appear in court.
