RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After nearly three years, winter has properly arrived in parts of central NC with a dusting of snow. Flurries have hit the southwestern portion of central NC overnight Monday night and into Tuesday. This is the first time that's happened in 1,038 days, according to our CBS 17 Storm Team. There was recorded snowfall, as well as photos from our viewers, in Siler City, Southern Pines, Whispering Pines and Cameron. Moore County issued a 2-hour delay for their school system in order for the area to have better, less frigid driving conditions. Next up for weather will be clearer and sunny skies with no snow, but the lows will be in the 20s in central NC.
