CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins compared President Biden's statement announcing he had pardoned his son Hunter to that of a social media post by President-elect Trump. "Rarely, if ever, have we heard from both Biden and Trump on the same page about anything. But now, it’s in print," Collins said on her primetime CNN show "The Source" Monday night. "Their mutual anger at the Justice Department, as evidenced in Biden’s announcement that came down late last night, clearing his son of his convictions on gun and tax charges," she added. Collins read from Biden's statement quoting him as saying "I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted." "Now following a statement like that that at times, sounded like something Trump himself could have posted on Truth Social," she said. Collins also noted that special counsel David Weiss, who was overseeing Hunter Biden's tax case, responded to the news that there has "never been any evidence of vindictive or selective prosecution in this case." The anchor's comments were first highlighted by Mediaite. Collins is one of CNN's biggest stars and was recently tapped by network head Mark Thompson to serve as the networks Chief White House Correspondent covering Trump when he returns to office next month.
