Cold front to boost showers Thursday and Friday

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Mostly dry conditions are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, with a cold front reaching the islands with showers Thursday and Friday. Most showers will not be heavy, but expected numerous showers in that timeframe. Winds remain light and variable through next week.
Tuesday & Wednesday:
Dry and stable: High pressure will keep conditions dry and stable.
Light winds: Expect light and variable winds, allowing for sea and land breezes.
Afternoon showers: Some showers are possible over interior and mountain areas due to sea breezes.
Big Island: A pocket of moisture will bring rain to the southeast, especially around Pahala.
Thursday & Friday:
Front approaches: A weak front will move in from the northwest.
Increased showers: Expect increasing shower chances, especially on Kauai and later on Oahu and Maui.
Windy conditions: Moderate to breezy trade winds may return briefly to the western islands.
Overall: The forecast calls for a generally dry week with the exception of some rain showers, particularly on the Big Island and later in the week as a front approaches.
