RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. — A Richmond woman died in a crash in Randolph County Friday night, the Indiana State Police confirmed on Saturday. According to ISP, officers from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office were called around 6:40 p.m. to U.S. 35 at the intersection of County Road 900 S, on the report of a crash. There, police requested further assistance from the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team. ISP said they conducted an investigation, which led them to determine Michelle Elaine Moore, a 58-year-old Richmond woman, was driving a red 2003 Cadillac. She was heading west on County Road 900 S when she disregarded a stop sign. Per ISP, this led Moore to be struck by a box truck on the driver's side door. The box truck was heading northbound on U.S. 35. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. U.S. 35 was also closed for around two hours to investigate and clean up the crash, ISP said. ISP added they do not suspect drugs or alcohol to have played a role in the crash.
