FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The 22-year-old man killed in a shooting outside of an apartment complex in Fresno on Thanksgiving has been identified, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Police say on Thursday, November 28, officers received three separate ShotSpotter activation alerts for multiple gunshots around 2 a.m. in the area of Pleasant Street and Fedora Avenue.
The first activation was for 15 rounds, while the second was 27 rounds, and the third was 5 rounds, resulting in nearly 47 rounds of shots fired.
Police say when officers arrived, they found two gunshot victims. A 22-year-old man, identified by police on Friday morning as Anthony Calderon, sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 28-year-old victim was transported to the hospital and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. A third victim, a 23-year-old male, was also there at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
Officials say the three men were standing outside an apartment complex, smoking a cigarette, when they were approached by a group of males. That's when, for unknown reasons, someone from the group started firing at them.
According to officials, the victims were not gang members.
"I can tell you these individuals, specifically Anthony Calderon, they're not gang members," said Fresno Police Lieutenant Paul Cervantes during a press conference Friday morning.
"They're just your average everyday normal beings, outside at 2 o'clock in the morning, minding their own business, smoking a cigarette."
Police are asking for help in identifying the suspects and ask that anyone with information contact the Fresno Police Department, or Homicide Detective J. Espinoza at (559) 621-2415.
Officials say this is the twenty-eighth murder of 2024 - around this time last year, the city was at thirty-two murders.
