MANDAN, N.D. (KXNET) — A man charged with several sex crimes in Mandan will not go to trial. As KX News previously reported, Kyle Kennedy is accused of having inappropriate contact with two young boys, who told investigators the abuse happened between 1998 and 2013. On Friday, Kennedy agreed to plead guilty to one count of gross sexual imposition. In exchange, Morton County judge Cynthia Feland dismissed four other counts — including indecent exposure, gross sexual imposition and Corruption or Solicitation of Minors. Minot Park District’s half-cent sales tax explained Kennedy recently served time at a prison in Minnesota, and was then sent back to North Dakota to face charges in August. He will now undergo a pre-sentence investigation, and is being held without bond. Even with a guilty plea, Kennedy still faces up to life in prison. Close Thanks for signing up!
