MINOT, N.D. (KXNET) — Both teachers and kids in North Dakota are enjoying a long holiday weekend before resuming classes on Monday.
Minot Schools Superintendent Scott Faul says teachers in the district prioritize hitting certain course and concept goals with students in every grad, throughout the school year.Teachers in the district follow a curriculum calendar with pacing guidelines with holidays and the potential for snow days.

Faul adds that teachers must stay within a week of the curriculum schedule to prevent students from falling behind.
"Minot Public Schools hasd pacing guides for each course and each grade," he states, "so they don't need to be lock step — but they do have to be within a couple of days."
