BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Small Business Saturday, the annual shopping event held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, is on Nov. 30 this year. Several places in Baton Rouge will have special discounts to celebrate the day.
Small Business Saturday was created in 2010 by American Express to encourage people to support small, local businesses during the holiday shopping season. The day serves as a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
By shopping at locally-owned businesses on Small Business Saturday, people contribute to their communities by boosting the local economy and supporting entrepreneurs.
In Baton Rouge, Bath Junkie is offering deals on gift cards and the first 10 shoppers will get a goody bag. Forever Lillies will have a pop-up and offer discounts on jewelry.

Baton Rouge Succulent Co. (7276 Highland Rd): Grab a coffee or hot chocolate and get 20% off plants and pots.
Studio Too Boutique (4159 La Highway 1 South in Port Allen): The boutique store will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for its community-wide shopping spree. Studio Too Boutique sells tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes and body care.
Bohemian Cove BR (10466 Airline Hwy. Suite F): Bohemian Cove BR is offering three sales for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Get 10% off when you spend $10-50, 15% off when you spend $51-150 and 20% off when you spend over $151.
Electric Depot (1509 Government Street): Shop at the local pop-up market at the Depot from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bath Junkie (7425 Corporate Blvd Suite 830)
