You're probably excited about tomorrow's Small Business Saturday sales, but when you visit a brick-and-mortar store, you also get a personal touch. "Everything you get in here you can buy online,” said Tom Mccoy, Owner of Performance Hobbiest, “but we can actually give you the advice that you need." McCoy calls his shop a toy store. He's been in the village of Webster for 35 years. "Tell me a job where you can go in loving everything you do and get to play with toys all day? It's a great job—I never have a bad day." The Bird House in Pittsford specializes in "bringing nature to your backyard," but if you don't quite know how to do that, going to the store in person may be the right move. "There's definitely a learning curve to knowing what kind of bird feeders you might want to attract what kind of birds,” said Liz Magnanti, Co-Owner of The Brid House. “So, we can make sure that the customer gets what they want without wasting a lot of money." Small businesses aren't just retailers though, beauty shops are also part of the local business community. Like Scott Miller — they've been in business for 40 years. “I hope that consumers know that it does make a difference," said Scott Miller, the co-owner, "if you buy Bobbi Brown, Mac, La Mer, Jo Malone, or any of the products that we have, from a chain — a company that has 2,700 stores or you go online and buy it — you're not supporting this economy and the people that work here. Remember, Small Business Saturday is tomorrow, but you don't have to wait to shop at local small businesses — you can do that all year long. All of these businesses have something going on for Small Business Saturday. So, if you plan on checking them out, this may be your chance.
