BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Black Friday is here. Shoppers braved the cold and lined up before sunrise to begin hunting for holiday deals. Although Black Friday shopping is not what it used to be a decade ago, shoppers at the Northwest Promenade kept the shopping spirit alive and well. Amtrak train strikes car on railroad tracks in Shafter Long lines could be seen outside Target, Kohl's and Old Navy. Many shoppers outside Target were looking to snag a copy of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour book. However, people did not rush into stores or fight over the last TV at Best Buy. Crowds were more tame compared to the chaos associated with the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season in past years. Hear what some Bakersfield Black Friday shoppers had to say about this year's shopping craze in the video player above.
