BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — The City of Beaufort will be kicking off their holiday season Nov. 30 with events throughout December. Here's a list of events scheduled to get you in the Christmas spirit: Pictures with Santa Outside the Beaufort Candy Shoppe, 103 West St. Ext. Saturday, Nov. 30, from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, from 1-4 p.m. Artists Weekend Dec. 1, noon-4 p.m. Downtown Beaufort Come pick up some one-of-a-kind gifts with a pop-up market at the Arsenal. There will also be food trucks and street musicians. Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish Thursday-Friday, Dec. 5-6 at 7 p.m. USCB Center for the Arts. The “Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish” will be an interactive musical depicting the last Christmas before the beginning of the Civil War among the enslaved at a South Carolina plantation. You can purchase tickets here. Nativity displays First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort, 1201 North St. Dec. 6-7 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Dec. 8. from noon – 3 p.m. The First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort will have more than150 Nativity displays from around the world. Night on the Town Friday, Dec. 6, starting at 3:30 p.m. Streets will close at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and merchants will open for the Night on the Town. On Bay Street, there will be plenty of food and activity booths hosted by non-profit organizations, and downtown restaurants will be open. Christmas music and caroling throughout evening The Parris Island Marine Corps Band, concert stage, Charles and Bay streets 6 p.m., movie on Bay 8:15 p.m., “The Night Before Christmas” reading 8:30 p.m., tree lighting with snow! Gullah Taste of Christmas and Rice Cook-off Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Bay Street Celebrate and honor Gullah holiday traditions with the Gullah Taste of Christmas and Rice Cook-off. Contestants in the Rice Cook-Off will cook on site and the competition will be live streamed. The grand prize will be $2,000. Think you have what it takes? You can register on their website for $75, but the final date to register and pay is Dec. 1 at midnight. Lighted Boat Parade Saturday, Dec. 7, starting at 5:30 p.m. Waterfront Park After the Gullah Taste of Christmas and Rice Cook-off, grab a seat at Waterfront Park to watch the Lighted Boat Parade! Christmas Parade Sunday, Dec. 8 from 3-5 p.m. Downtown Beaufort You can watch holiday-themed floats, marching bands and fire trucks during the annual Christmas Parade in Beaufort. The parade will be rounded out with Santa on the Beaufort-Port Royal fire truck. Wreaths Across America Saturday, Dec. 14, at noon Beaufort National Cemetery Wreaths Across America is a national movement to remembers fallen U.S. troops. Wreaths will be laid on the graves of fallen service members as a memorial to honor veterans. If you would like to volunteer or sponsor a veteran's wreath, please check out the Wreaths Across America website for more information. Beaufort will also have a menorah lighting and New Years Eve celebration. Chanukah Menorah Lighting Thursday, Dec. 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. Waterfront Park Chabad Greater Hilton Head holds a Chanukah menorah lighting, 5-6:30 p.m., Waterfront Park. New Years Eve Tuesday, Dec. 31 Waterfront Park Waterfront Park will have fireworks to ring in 2025.
