One shot in the head in Independence: police

INDEPENDENCE, La. (WGNO) — The Independence Police Department is investigating after someone in the area was shot in the head on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
According to the IPD, just before 10 p.m., police were called to a home in the 200 block of Robertson Road due to gunfire.
On scene, one person was found to have been shot in the head, and was taken to a local hospital before later being released.

The initial investigation reportedly shows that the victim and another passenger drove up to the home and, before they got out, multiple shots were fired.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office helped to process the scene and reportedly found multiple shell casings from multiple weapons. Police say two nearby houses were also hit during the shooting, but nobody inside was injured.
