NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Leftover light snow with chilly light rain activity, as well as patchy low visibility, is lingering around on this Thanksgiving Day morning in The Land of Enchantment, but as conditions are slowly drying out, it's cooling down as well. With the band of precipitation moving eastward while drifting southward, slippery travel is present for many from The Continental Divide to as far east as Tucumcari, while as far north as Santa Fe to parts of The Albuquerque to the south have been slick as well. Morning low temperatures are now mostly below the freezing mark north of The Metro, starting off in the upper single digits, teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s from north-northwest to south-southeast in lower elevation. With enough daytime heating to turn most of the southward-drifting light precipitation to rain, in exception for the higher elevations, which will have some snow, afternoon temperatures will be lower than yesterday, as well as near to slightly below-normal criteria, reaching into the upper 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and lower 60s from north to south in lower elevation. Winds will be significantly calmer today as the atmosphere dries out eventually even in most-southern areas after Thanksgiving dinner-time tonight. As The Jet Stream to the south continues to moves southward, only some passing clouds will ensue ahead this weekend into next week with a gradual warm-up.
