So long, four-game winning streak. Coming off of a victory against the Utah Jazz Tuesday night in an Emirates NBA Cup game, the Spurs traveled back to San Antonio to face the Los Angeles Lakers. Hoping to add to their four-game winning streak, the Spurs had Keldon Johnson return from injury as well as Devin Vassell. Although it was an exciting matchup with highlights on both sides, the Lakers led 32-23 after the first quarter and never looked back. Even with some surges by the Spurs, the Lakers ultimately held them off 119-101.
Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 20 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and two assists. He dominated the highlights with rejections, slams, and threes!

All in all, this rematch went the same way but with a different strategy. Instead of Davis leading the way, the Spurs allowed the Lakers starting five to all hit double figures. Coach Mitch Johnson said during the start of the game he noticed some fundamental lapses that hindered the team’s performance. This team has surprised Spurs fans in a good way this season, but that effort they’ve shown has to be consistent.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
The Spurs take on the Sacramento Kings on Sunday at 8:00 P.M. (CST) on KENS5.
Happy Thanksgiving Spurs fans!
