FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The votes between Democrat Adam Gray and Republican John Duarte remain close in California's 13th Congressional District race, with approximately 200 votes seperating the two, according to the Associated Press. It is the last Congressional race still to he called by the AP following the election earlier this month. As of Wednesday evening, votes reported by the Associated Press show Gray with 104,991 votes, a slight lead over Duarte, who has 104,801 votes. This is a difference of 190 votes, with 99% of votes counted, according to AP. On Tuesday, Melvin Levey with the Merced County Registrar of Voters announced they have processed every ballot in Merced County. "Other than those ballots that are eligible to be cured, there will be no other updates. And I can tell you that we are still getting those care affidavits," he said. Officials in Merced County say they understand the voters' frustration for the process taking so long and ask them to be patient as they have to follow state law. The California 13th Congressional District contains parts of Fresno, Madera, Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Merced counties. The Associated Press and Katherine Phillips contributed to this article.
