HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Cool trade winds from the northeast will continue to bring mostly dry conditions to the islands. A slight uptick in windward showers is expected through Friday, although no heavy rain is in the forecast. Trades will turn easterly Saturday and will be replaced by kona winds Sunday. Drier than normal conditions are expected through early next week. Thursday and Friday: Strong trade winds: Trade winds will strengthen on Thursday and Friday as the high-pressure ridge continues to build. Stable and dry: Conditions will remain very stable on Thursday, with mostly dry weather. Light showers on windward slopes: A weak upper-level trough on Friday and Saturday may bring light showers to windward slopes. Leeward areas will remain dry.
