CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A business in Charles County is giving back to those in need ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Burner's Bar and Grill handed out 200 meals Wednesday. Chefs cooked up turkey, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and yams for those who are unhoused. "Sometimes we're not mindful of how simple things like just getting a hot meal. It's not necessarily consistent for some people," restaurant owner Troy Burner said. DC Police chief, command staff pack boxes for seniors at Capital Area Food Bank It was a team effort and Maryland leaders were there to support the effort. "This business is very important. I really think it's important to highlight the impact that we're having on the community," Del. C.T. Wilson (D-Md.) said. "I love the fact that Black-owned businesses are giving back to the community." Burner's Bar and Grill also celebrated one year of service in the community.
