Elementary school teacher on administrative leave after allegedly slapping two students

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Attleboro Public Schools announced Wednesday that a teacher was placed on administrative leave after allegedly slapping two elementary school students.
On Nov. 26, Thacher Elementary School administrators notified Central Office Staff of an physical altercation that occurred at the school.
According to Attleboro Public Schools Superintendent David Sawyer, a teacher allegedly slapped two students in their classroom.
Sawyer said an investigation was launched after informing district administration, who he said were told immediately.
The district also notified the Attleboro Police Department and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
“This is disheartening news, as the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” Sawyer said. “We take situations like this very seriously and are committed to collaborating with Attleboro Police as they conduct a thorough investigation.”
