STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) — A judge has set the bond for a former Stillwater dental assistant. Cody Stolfa appeared in court via zoom for the first time on Wednesday. He's facing 36 counts and state attorney's say they plan to fight this case and ensure justice is served. Stolfa is accused of crimes against unconscious patients and peeping on students at an Oklahoma State University library. "While this is a very upsetting for the community, I don't want anyone to rest tonight thinking that we have not been able to identify some of the individuals that were victims of this type of behavior," said J.R. Kalka, Payne County Assistant District Attorney. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Ex-dental assistant accused of sexually assaulting patients now suspected in OSU peeping tom case Stolfa is being accused of sexually assaulting patients who were under anesthesia from dental surgery. A judge set his bond to $50,000 for each of the 17 cases, adding up to $850,000. "Unfortunately, there's a significant number of victims, and a significant number of families to speak to in this particular instance," said Kalka. The alleged assaults happened between June and September 2021 while Stolfa was working at Central Oklahoma Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. They didn't come to light until this past September, when the FBI was alerted by an Australian who saw disturbing videos on the dark web. The 36-year-old has also been linked to crimes on the OSU campus. In September 2021, a police report was filed about an unknown man taking pictures of people using the restroom at the campus library. Stillwater Police now suspect it was Stolfa. "I will alert you that it was the investigation into that that that spurred on the investigation that led to these additional charges," said Kalka. When Stolfa was arrested, his devices were seized and he hasn't been out of jail since.Stolfa's next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, December 2.
