KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- KCI is staying busy the night before Thanksgiving as travelers from around the world visit our city for the holiday. At the bottom of the escalators inside KCI, Janice Bonat and Leonard Wagner wait to welcome their daughter and her fiance home from Chicago. Kansas City metro stores that will be open and closed on Thanksgiving "It's really special, you know," said Janice "Chicago is not that far away but we still never get to see her as much as we like." It's the couple's first Thanksgiving while engaged. Janice and Leonard both said they've got a couple of things planned for the holiday. "A lot of eating and then we're going to see the movie 'Wicked' on Friday," she said. "And also we are going to see at Union Station the CPKC Holiday Train," Leonard added. Alex Penrose and Caroline Guerin are visiting from Texas. They've got a few things planned, but first things first, Alex wanted a KC staple. "I had a question about the BBQ sauce," he said. "What was the difference between Texas and Kansas City? So I am looking forward to trying the BBQ." Caroline, on the other hand, was more concerned with seeing family. "We always try to at least make the effort for the holidays to travel wherever our families are and we usually go for Thanksgiving to his family and for Christmas with my family, so we fly back to France," explained Caroline.
