Foodland Farms could be seen just as busy for last minute shoppers.
"Crazy," said Ed Simeona, Papakolea resident. "Even the parking lot. We had to park way back on the other side. And then coming in the carts, I mean everything. But, it's to be expected right."
"It's been pretty packed," said Gloria Lee, Hawaii Kai resident. "Line at Costco was insane. Over here is, my dad has to wait in the car and I have to go shop and run out, so you know that whole deal. It's a team effort."
For some, today's about getting together. For others, it's about getting ready to get together.
"I'm having family over," said Donna Wallace, Salt Lake resident. "There's gonna be about 16 people."
"Actually our children are gonna come to the house and provide for my wife and I," said Simeona. "We were gonna go out to dinner but they said we'll come by and we'll cook."

"Salad and Foodland is known for their fruit," said Wallace. "You know they have a lot of fruit bowls and I like to make a big fruit bowl for Thanksgiving, and their desserts."
"Pumpkin crunch, the apple pie, pumpkin pie, all that good stuff," said Lee. "It's all made already. I don't know how to do all that."
While some say this is "last minute shopping", others say it's right on time.
"Cause I wanted the freshest food," said Wallace. "You know the freshest, it's the vegetables and the fruit you can't buy ahead of time."
Foodland is one of the few stores that will be open on Thanksgiving day for anyone who has to pick up any last minute items like maybe some fish. If you know of any other stores, let us know.

What's thanksgiving mean to you?
"It's a grateful heart," said Lee. "I'm so blessed. God has blessed me with great family and friends and a wonderful life right now so I'm just thankful for everything."
"Family and friends," said Wallace. "And coming together and being grateful for being in Hawaii. Paradise."
What advice would you give people who are doing last minute Thanksgiving shopping? "Good luck," said Lee. "Send up a prayer. Good luck."
