UPDATE: WEDNESDAY 11/27/2024 7:43 p.m. The Colorado Department of Transportation said while there is debris still on the roadway, the road is open to alternating traffic and is advising drivers to use caution. ORIGINAL STORY: Rock slide closes portion of Highway 50 east of Salida WEDNESDAY 11/27/2024 7:09 p.m. (FREMONT COUNTY, Colo.) — Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is warning drivers that a portion of Highway 50 located at milepost 231 between Howard and Salida will be closed for an extended amount of time. CSP advises drivers to find alternative routes as the portion of the road will be closed while crews clean up the debris.
