MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Getting away for the holidays is what hundreds of holiday travelers making their way to the Minot International Airport are planning to do for Thanksgiving as winter conditions in the Magic City continue.
The airport has increased its staff and terminal hours for the shift into winter to make the best possible experience for the increase in travelers during the busy holiday season.
A couple of holiday travelers KX News caught up with were Brian Bronowski and his wife who were making their way to Arizona after planning the trip 10 months in advance.
"When we do things we're planning ahead. We're planning ahead, it's still kind of spendy but that's okay, it's money well spent. There's a time to spend money and there's a time not to," said Bronowski.
Bronowski says his favorite part of this trip to Arizona will be seeing his daughter.

"See her 'cause it's been a lot of years since she moved down there and she's handicapped in a wheelchair," said Bronowski.
Bronowski's wife adds that Minot International Airport is both convenient and the closest airport to where they live where they would be able to fly across the country.
"Something we like about coming to Minot is that it is only about a two and half hour drive for us cause we only have a small airport at home that only is that usually goes to Billings so it's a nice drive over, it's a smaller airport you don't have all the congestion," said Bronowski's wife.
"Vacation is sparse, so it's hard to go everywhere where you would like to be you know through the years but yeah it going to be fun," said Bronowski.
Now, if you're traveling domestically, you need to arrive at the airport a minimum of one hour before your flight is scheduled to take off.
