BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Bakersfield Christmas Town is getting ready to welcome visitors celebrating the holiday season.
The annual event opens Nov. 29 and runs through Dec. 31 at the Kern County Fairgrounds at 1142 S. P St. Christmas Town is open between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Organizers said the venue will be closed Dec. 3 for a private event. The walk-through portion will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but its drive-thru portion will be open those days at 5:30 p.m.
The Holiday Cottage brings gifts to foster children
Visitors can have all sorts of fun at Christmas Town. Children can play a game of laser tag to help save Buddy the Elf or have a friendly battle with the Abominable Snowman. Kids can also write a letter to Santa or ride in the Sugar Plum Christmas Train.
And, of course, you can visit Santa Claus at his Cozy Cottage.
Admission starts at $20 and varies for "peak days," organizers said. You can purchase tickets and view more information on pricing at this link.
