BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A storm knocked out power to 1,571 utility customers in the Rosedale area Wednesday afternoon, according to PG&E. California Highway Patrol, however, says the outage may have been caused by a vehicle hitting a power pole. The outage was reported at 3:14 p.m. Power was restored to most customers by 4:42 p.m., according to the PG&E website. "This is an unplanned outage due to a storm," PG&E said. "When able, our crews will inspect and make repairs." CHP says a crash that occurred at Glenn Street and Dean Avenue which ignited a utility pole may have been responsible. The outage stretched east from Allen Road to Calloway Drive, and south from around Meacham Road to Old Town and Shellabarger roads, according to the utility's website.
