Powerball ticket worth $1 million sold at Harris Teeter in Ashburn

ASHBURN, Va. (DC News Now)--Someone is a million dollars richer after they bought a Powerball ticket in Monday's $184 million drawing at the Harris Teeter store in Ashbrook Commons Plaza.
Some customers said they were happy for the person who bought the Powerball ticket.
"Hey you, congratulations! That's fantastic," said Marie Burkholder.
Others had a more subdued reaction to the news.
"Well, you have to be lucky to win it, that's for sure," said Dean Knepper.
Lisa Roden said she knows how she'd spend the money if she ever won the Powerball.
"I'd make a film. I'm a filmmaker, so I'd make a film," said Roden, who adds that she would make a science fiction movie.

The odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 292.2 million. When it comes to winning any Powerball prize -- the odds jump to 1 in 25.
"$1 million? Well, I would, probably get a second home somewhere on the beach," said Dean Knepper.
Harris Teeter also will cash in on the winnings. It gets a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia lottery for selling the winning ticket.
"Good for them, wish it was me," said Burkholder.
The owner of the winning ticket has 180 days from November 25 to claim the prize.
The IRS gets a 24% cut of the prize, while the state of Virginia collects at least 4%.
