CHICOPEE, MASS. (WWLP)--This year's 15th Annual March for the Foodbank was a huge success, so far raising $575,833 - equal to 1,727,499 meals.  The event started with humble beginnings. Fifteen years ago radio host Monte Belmonte decided to push an empty shopping cart from Northampton to Greenfield in one day to raise $5,000 for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. He raised $13,000. Rock 102’s Mayflower Marathon breaks all time record donations Since then the route has grown to two days, with hundreds of people in the community walking with Belmonte from Springfield to Greenfield.
