New Mexico rolls out second phase of appliance rebate program for Black Friday

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) is rolling out the second phase of its rebate program this Black Friday, Nov. 29. For the second phase of the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) program, the EMNRD is offering the four following rebates on ENERGY STAR® energy efficient products:
$840 - Electric heat pump clothes dryer
$840 Electric stove, cooktop, range, or oven
$4,000 - Electric load service center
$2,500 - Electric wiring
The HEAR program is backed by $43 million in funding from the Department of Energy and the Biden Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act. According to the EMNRD, more than 200 energy-efficient appliances will qualify for rebates through the HEAR program.
Intel in Rio Rancho receives $500M to expand facility
The rebates will be available starting on Friday, Nov. 29. To be eligible, you must be a New Mexico resident who earns below 80% of the Area Median Income or participates in benefit programs like SNAP or Medicaid. Households can receive up to $14,000 in rebates.
