ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the men involved in a deadly shooting in 2020 after getting kicked out of a party might be able to avoid additional time behind bars.
Rudy Orozco and a group of men tried to rob an apartment full of people in March 2020, injuring three people and killing 19-year-old Jeffrey Baca, according to court documents.

Orozco pleaded guilty to burglary and conspiracy charges less than one month later and agreed to testify against the other suspects. Judge Cindy Leos on Wednesday gave Orozco a deferred sentence with five years of supervised probation.
If he successfully completes the probation, his charges will be dismissed. If he does not, Judge Leos said he will spend nine years in prison.
