TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Taunton Police Department said a man was arrested Wednesday after shooting at police while barricaded in an apartment bathroom. The department said officers responded to an apartment on Hodges Avenue around 9 a.m. for a wellbeing check. Police said that when they arrived, a man who was barricaded in his bathroom shot at the officers, and at least one officer fired back. No one was hit by any of the shots fired. Police then evacuated the home, and after an hour were able to negotiate with the man to surrender. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Taunton Police Station. Police added that they believe the incident was isolated and that their is no ongoing danger to the public. Categories: Massachusetts, News
