(WPRI) — High school football games are usually played rain or shine, but that's not the case for some of the rivalry games this Thanksgiving. With widespread, chilly rain expected to develop Thursday morning and continue through the evening, some schools decided to move the games to Wednesday night. Weather Alert: Rainy Thanksgiving Expected Cranston Athletic Director Michael Traficante told 12 News they rescheduled because it's more than just a football game. "We are very fortunate to have two great bands, Westernettes, Falconettes, Emerald Core, cheerleaders, as well as the ROTC color guard," he said. "It’s a great pregame and halftime show, so to create the best opportunity for this to happen, the East/West Thanksgiving day football game has officially been moved."
