Woman from Iowa killed in Saturday morning accident in South Dakota

NOVEMBER 27, 2024:
One person died and another was seriously injured Saturday morning (Nov. 23, 2024, at 8:41am) in a single-vehicle crash one mile north of Alexandria, SD.
Preliminary crash information indicates 68 year old Lois Kelli Watson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, the driver of a 2024 Chevy Silverado, was traveling westbound on I-90 near mile marker 344. She drifted into the median, corrected her steering, then entered the north ditch where the vehicle rolled. Watson died at the scene. Her adult passenger, 62 year old Caroline Delia Nadeau from Oceanside, California, was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. A 4 year old girl in the vehicle received minor injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Preliminary crash information indicates a 68 year old female from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was driving a 2024 Chevy Silverado westbound on I-90 near mile marker 344. The driver drifted into the median, corrected steering, then entered the north ditch where the vehicle rolled.
The driver passed away at the scene. The 62 year old female passenger from Oceanside, California, was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. A four year old girl received minor injuries. All three people were wearing a seatbelt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
