MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two hundred twenty-two pounds of marijuana that was on its way to a storage unit in southeast Memphis was seized Tuesday. Agents with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force say they made the seizure when they served a search warrant at a storage unit in the 2600 block of Mt. Moriah. Two pallets of marijuana were being shipped from Oklahoma to the storage unit by a trucking company, which was unaware of the crime, the agency said. Memphis ranked on U.S. News Best Places list A suspect who showed up to receive the pallets was arrested. The agency said he had another 5 pounds of pot and $2,000 cash in his vehicle. He's also allegedly wanted on outstanding drug and weapon charges in at least two other states. The suspect was not identified. The case is being prosecuted by the Shelby County District Attorney's Office.
