Mount Pleasant shoplifting suspect in custody after search

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Two men are in custody Wednesday afternoon after one of them stole from a Mount Pleasant home improvement store.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department warned of a heavy police presence near National Drive while they searched for the shoplifting suspect identified as Correy McCullough.
McCullough was with another man, identified as Derrick Niles who is wanted for a separate incident by another agency, according to Sgt. Ashley Croy with the department.
McCullough is charged with shoplifting and obtaining goods by false pretenses. Niles was wanted for three charges of indecent exposure and trespass after notice.
Multiple resources were used in their search, which included areas near the golf course.
Police told News 2 that the suspect accused of stealing from Lowes was taken into custody around 2:06 p.m.
