JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – A serious single-vehicle crash closed a portion of Betsy Kerrison Parkway on Wednesday afternoon. Chief Ryan Kunitzer with St. Johns Fire District said a driver left the roadway and rolled over. The driver had to be extracted from the vehicle. Southbound lanes were closed near Snoqualmie Place and the department said Betsy Kerrison and River Road were temporarily closed so that a helicopter could land. Chief Kunitzer said the driver was headed toward Kiawah and Seabrook Islands. Lanes have since started to reopen.
