The North Face to close Center City store at the end of January after 15 years

Outdoor apparel brand the North Face will close its store at 1515 Walnut St. at the end of January, ending a 15-year run in Center City. Documents filed with the state show the company's lease at the store is ending. Denver-based parent company VF Corp. — which also owns Vans, Dickies and Timberland — said it has missed revenue forecasts over the past several years due to weak demand and too much inventory.
