NORTH VERNON, Ind. — One man is dead after a suspected drunk driving collision.
According to the Jennings County Sheriff's Department, the crash occurred near Brush Creek Elementary in North Vernon shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday.
Deputies arriving on scene reported that a 2014 Hyundai passenger car and a 2011 Toyota Tundra had collided. Investigators believe the driver of the Tundra was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The sheriff's department said that US 50 East was closed for nearly five hours as part of the crash clean up and investigation.
"This tragedy is a reminder of the devastating consequences of impaired driving and failing to wear your seatbelt. We urge everyone to make responsible decisions and ensure our roads remain safe." said Chief Deputy Cody Low.
