GALVESTON, Ind. -- A Galveston man has been taken into custody after a nine-month investigation into child molesting allegations. According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, 61-year-old Jerry Norris was preliminarily charged with: Two counts of child molesting, a Class A felony One count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class B felony One count of child molesting, a Class C felony One count of attempted child exploitation, a Class C felony One count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Class D felony Two drug-related misdemeanors IMPD officer arrested in Johnson County on preliminary domestic violence charges The release said that Norris was taken into custody on Wednesday morning. This comes after an investigation began in March surrounding claims that Norris had "improper contact" with a juvenile in Cass County. At the end of the investigation, officials said in the release that the case was presented to the Cass County Prosecutor's Office. An arrest warrant and a search warrant were then obtained for Norris. Norris was located at his home on Wednesday. The release said a search of his home uncovered multiple electronic devices, suspected marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. Norris is incarcerated in the Cass County Jail.
