HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A mom doing whatever she can to protect her children could use some help through KHON2's Laulima Giving Program. Get Hawaii's latest morning news delivered to your inbox, sign up for News 2 You Mom has two little girls, ages two and five. They recently moved back to Oahu to escape domestic abuse and moved into a bedroom at a family member's home. Her five-year-old has a learning disability but is trying to adjust to kindergarten. Mom brings her youngest to a family member's home to be watched so she can go to work. How you can help this family of 10 recover from hardships, tragedy Recently, her car has been breaking down and the family's home caught fire, though thankfully, it wasn't destroyed. Her two-year-old loves Barbies, swimming, playing at the park and playing dress up. Her five-year-old loves to swim, play at the park and dress up too, but she also loves to sing. Mom's request is for a blowup pool for the girls to play in the yard. They're also hoping to move into her uncle's studio at his house, once the fire damage is repaired. For that, she would appreciate a couch, a dining set, kitchen appliances and anything to resupply the studio's kitchen. In the spirit of laulima, our many hands working together, we can help this family in rebuilding their life in a safe place and give the girls a happy holiday season.
