(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Popular local musician and now author, Michelle "M.L." Edwards joined the FOX21 Morning News crew on Tuesday, Nov. 26 to share more about her newest book. 'Cheers to Hot Flashes & Friendships,' Edwards' latest work, is a heartwarming tribute to the power of friendship and embracing life's changes with grace and humor. Edwards said the humorous take on the midlife "hot flashing" season is something that all women have and will eventually go through. When asked about what her inspiration was, Edwards said the idea sparked from her 'sweet' group of friends who like to call themselves the Sweet and Sassy Sisters. "This lovely group of ladies, we just text each other, we send humor to each other and we can work with each other through struggles," Edwards said. "It's just such a sweet friendship, especially during this time in our life and that's what inspired me to write this book because I thought 'more women need to have sweet and sassy sisters in their life' during the hot flashing season." 'Cheers to Hot Flashes & Friendships' talks about the struggles of menopause and touches on why it is great according to Edwards. "I think we are all made to make a joyful noise in this world, whether it is through music or words and I think humor helps with that," Edwards said. "I think humor helps with everything."
