KANNAPOLIS, NC – The principal of the Concord Lake STEAM Academy in Kannapolis is charged with failure to report the sex abuse of a student by a teacher. The Kannapolis Police department charged 42-year-old Kendra Woods of Charlotte with one count of failure to report abuse and one count of failure to report crimes against juveniles. Investigators say they received a complaint back in October that Ms. Woods failed to report a crime. During the investigation, police arrested a teacher at the school, 23-year-old Tyler Woods. He is charged with three counts of Indecent Liberties with a child, one count of Disseminate Obscenity to a Minor and one count of permitting a Minor to Assist in Obscenity. Police say the principal and the teacher are not related.
